Hot is cool

Have a look at this refreshing, summery landscape with the Takano River, which joins the Kamo River.
But today’s high here was 39°C, and tomorrow’s is expected to be the same.
An American student said, “It’s amazing that Japanese people can live in such heat!”
Last year, a German student said the same thing.
It’s really incredibly hot, and it is a blessing to arrive at a subway station or an underground shopping mall.
But lately, I’ve gotten so used to this heat that anything below body temperature feels cool. When it’s 34°C, for example, I actually feel a little refreshed. Unbelievable!
