Moomin

A European student explained to me that the original 'Moomin' stories contained some dark and cruel parts. However, it seems to have been introduced as a totally lovely fantasy in Japan. She also said that there seems to be a legend that has formed only among Japanese people who travel to Finland that if you can see the aurora, you will have a happy family with a lot of children in the future. She told me that nobody holds such a belief in Europe. I wonder how Japanese tourists came to make such a romantic story!
