subway in Kyoto
On subway trains in Kyoto, the annoucement says, "Tobira ga shimarimasu. Gochui kudasai," when the doors are closing. In English, it is, "The doors are closing. Pay attention, please." To understand this Japanese sentence structure, you should study until about half through of the beginner's level. One day, a student suddenly understood what the annoucement meant, and that made him very happy. I understand his happiness very well because I also had hard time to learn foreign languages. But is it a SO interesting phrase? He kept on repeating, "Tobiraga shimarimasu. Gochui kudasai." for the following few weeks.
