transfer

I sometimes feel as if things in other countries go quickly compared to Japan. I had been giving lessons to an American. One day, he said that he received an appointment after the last lesson and he would be transferred back to the States the next week. I was taken aback! It was so soon, but true. He vanished away and I was left alone very suddenly. It was like magic.
In Japan, you would have a few months to prepare before even thinking about transering!
